Most people start by deciding what they want to do with a phone. If you just want to make calls and a few texts then you don’t need a smart phone. On the other hand if you like applications (Apps) including surfing the web and email on your phone you are a candidate for a […]

Comparing Cell Phone Plan Costs
Its a wide open cell market. Most carriers have lots of phones to choose from and a number of plans. There are so many carriers and plans out today that it is not a simple task to compare them. Circumstances vary. I hear that a lot of young people text so much and call so […]
Cell Phone Coverage Areas
A new phone plan is useless if your new phone won’t work well where you need it. Each cell plan offers a coverage map for you to check. Here are the current web addresses for them. Cell Phone Generations and Speeds
In preparing to change cell phones plans the first thing that I saw that looked confusing was all the different cell phone generations and speeds. Cell phone generations started with the first generation (1G) years ago which is nowhere in service anymore as far as I see. The current cell phone landscape includes networks that […]
Testing Computer Hardware
When your computer isn’t running right, and I mean you are experiencing crashes, blue screens and so forth, the first thing to check is whether some newly installed update or software is causing the problem. But if it is not, you might have a hardware issue. Windows has some built-in programs that can help evaluate […]
Windows Media Center Needs to Upscale SD to HD to be Top Notch
Windows Media Center is a good DVR. It has Pause, Rewind, Fast Forward, the ability to work with extenders to become a multi-room DVR; all very good. But my Panasonic Blu-ray player takes 480p recordings and upscales them to 720p. SD programming streamed from Netflix gets scaled up to higher resolution. Windows Media Center does […]

About Indenting Code in These Examples, Line Continuation Characters
Normally programmers indent code to different levels to show If statements, loops, etc. Programming IDEs do it automatically for you. Unfortunately, HTML doesn't do this and browsers collapse white spaces. Also, there is a limited amount of line space in the columns of these pages. For these reasons the code on these pages in not indented.
Also as different browsers will break lines at different places, there are no line continuation characters that mark that the following line is a continuation of the current one. If you are uncertain where the line breaks should be, just copy the code example into your IDE and the whole lines of code should appear on the same line
